It is not a common thing to see a great show written about superhumans. Smallville ran for ten seasons, and that was an exception rather than the norm, but I feel that No Ordinary Family had better writing and more relatable characters. Samllville had the weight of its mythology behind it, but NOF was creating its own, and very well, as it moved along its storylines, and that awesome finale just opened up so many possibilities that I could not but hunger for more of this show and what it could do! The writing and heart of this show was amazing- and that came through on the screen- you could see the passion and dedication in both the script and the acting. We need this show back! At least for one season to wrap up the storylines they were ready to jump into, and if not maybe a made for TV movie to answer what would happen next after the finale. It is so frustrating to feel like the voices of faithful fans simply have no power and that we are kicked to the curb in events like this. Please give us something, anything, to resolve the storyline’s loose ends. If anyone has the ear of SYFY or FX, maybe one of these networks could pick up the series (pipe dream, I know, but still…).
Dave, you’re making many excellent points here. I agree very much. The way we can get these shows back is by bringing all the fans together and by taking actions together as a group. Yes Kimmie, one of the many things that I loved about this show was the fact that it showed a solid family being there for each other even amidst great challenges such as ummmm …… superpowers
I hope that ABC will bring back No Ordinary Family, V,and Detroit 187 because these were quality shows that should have been given another season and a different time slot. The t.v networks should realize that most viewers should have our DVR’S counted as ratings also and not take us for granted because we love these shows and give them 100% support viewing. Please wise up ABC before regular viewers start losing interest in supporting the new season of shows for 2011-2012.
Wow, can’t believe they cancelled such a great show. One that drew in scifi fans and young people. A show that portrayed good values. What a joke, I really don’t understand who is running these networks. They have no idea about how loyal scifi fans are and how much advertisers covet them. We are worth our weight in advertising gold.
Man i am like the show is so cool and have its real nice mix of comedy and sci fi. Yeah this show is even ebtter then Heroes which also sadly ended. Please Bring back this show!!!!
I have been watching this show religiously since it first aired in the UK. I had my doubts that I would enjoy NOF but after the first 10 minutes of the pilot, I was riveted. I rarely watch TV but this was a great programme and well worth watching. I am disappointed that ABC are not going to show any more of it.
I just found out that my show got cancelled, how sad! My family enjoyed watching on Tuesday nights, then that “dancing” show started coming on in its place. I am very upset that every time I get a favorite show they cancel. It’s all about the ratings they don’t care about they dedicated fans that are faithful to watch every week. What they are replacing our favorite shows with is crap!

Just another example of a good show down the tubes. I really liked the premise of this one. For ordinary people to all of a sudden develop superpowers I think is a daydream of a lot of us. I mean who wouldn’t want to be able to do something extraordinary with their lives?
I don’t understand why this one didn’t do well. Maybe they had it up against some other shows that did.
Maybe they didn’t advertise enough. I didn’t hear about it myself until there had already been an episode or two and had to watch them online. Actually, I think that may be the problem a lot of the time. Sometimes I don’t hear about a show until it’s in reruns. That happened with Moonlight which only lasted one season.
Come on TV execs. What happened to shows that lasted seven years? I don’t think we’ve had one of those in a long time and I don’t count the reality shows.
Anyway, I would like to see this show come back so we’re not left hanging once again.

why is it that the corporate sector who governs this sort of thing don’t look past their own little circle if they want to know who really is watching a show there are two small sites (twitter, facebook) i think these platforms will give a very different view of just how many viewers they have
also if they have a look at some of the torrent sites this number will have grown quite considerably
so come on you guys in power grow a brain and put in a little more effort before killing an epic show such as this the story is already written all ya gotta do read it and you will see a winner

I am utterly disappointed in ABC. The cancellation of “No Ordinary Family” has really chapped me this time. That show was “fresh”, “happening”, “creative”, “risk-taking”, “extremely rare”, but “EXTREMELY GOOD”. I am sooo tired of all these shows that are the same run-of-the-mill type of shows. It gets rather boring watching a million shows based on a murder case (SERIOUSLY). How about a million shows based on a “surgery” (COME-ON). I mean, for once I would love to have a show like “No Ordinary Family” make it into a season 6 or 7 and not have to be on SyFy to do it.
With that said, could SyFy possibly pick up “No Ordinary Family”? The end of season one was simply amazing and left it open for some real good episodes to follow.
This was a good family show. They had newer actors to the screen, which was refreshing because it’s not the same old actors we see over and over again. The suspense was good and lighthearted and was geared towards family. Many episodes had cliff hangers that kept us wanting to tune in every week to see what would happen next. . The networks are out of their minds for not giving shows a chance to bring more people into their audiences.
How do the big networks count all the visits to sites like HULU.com . . . I haven’t watched mainstream TV for over 10 years. (Locked into a certain show on a certain day). I’ve been watching “No Ordinary Family” and really enjoyed it, just to find out it’s canceled. I’ve already finished Smallville so I need another great program like this to take it’s place.
This show has great family synergy. The combination of all of their powers is great, it’s like Smallville on steroids.
ABC please bring back this show. There is a bunch of criminals on the loose that need rounded up!

Another thing that I believe – aside from “No Ordinary Family” being a great show is that it also teaches all of it’s viewers how important it is to have such a close bond and relationship with their friends and family. And how a friend can easily become part of a family aswell. It also explains how it’s possible for anyone to be able have special abilities of their own. And also how warm and caring Families and friends can be with each other. I am really hoping and praying that ABC Will really bring back “No Ordinary Family” With the exact same actors and characters – and that every single channel will stop canceling great Shows such as “No Ordinary Family”, “Outsourced”, “The Cape” ETC…..
This was a great show. Julie Benz is gorgeous. The plot and storyline were original and engrossing. ABC has no understanding of good TV. They are stuck in reality TV hell.
I can’t believe ABC is canceling this show! it’s such an awesome show! it just needs to have a new name, the name it a bit “stupid” from what i’ve heard (maybe why it hasn’t gotten may views) but i’ve watched this show from day one and it’s soo sad that it won’t be coming back season 2.
they really need to bring back this show for season 2 and more. it has an excellent edge of your seat plot, great character growth, and fun action scenes. i want all their powers. and now with the 80 new supers. this is too big of a cliff hanger. brilliant show! bring it back!

My family and I really enjoyed watching No Ordinary Family. In a time when television is oversaturated with hospital and cop drama’s, I felt this show was perfect. I remember watching the very first episode with my uncle; I told him I wasn’t going to like it. To give you a little history about me, I don’t really like X-Men, Iron-Man, pretty much anything dealing with super powers. I watched the pilot episode and was hooked. It has been a long time since I’ve had a show that made me run home on Tuesday’s by 7 p.m. to ensure I wouldn’t miss it. As a child, I would run in the house and watch my favorite show, but as an adult, with errands and other things to do, I would make sure it was scheduled around No Ordinary Family. The actors were so authentic in playing their characters, which can tend to be overdone in the “super power” world. Each character had a real human flaw and something I could identify with. It was appropriate for all ages. I didn’t have to cover my niece, who is twelve, eyes once. It’s truly a beautiful show. Please bring it back. People tend to navigate to what they know. I am tired of hospital and crime shows. Please give this show a chance.
I hope that they bring back No Ordinary Family. Not only did it have a great story line, but it was something that our whole family could watch together. And with the way most TV is these days that is far and few to find – especially to find something that everyone likes. It wasn’t too young for the older ones and it wasn’t lame, and it wasn’t too old for the kids. We looked forward to that family time every week, but now the Tuesday quality TV went down the drain!

My girlfriend and I have been in the routine of going to bed and watching No Ordinary family and its become our evening ritual! however season 1 has finished and we are desperate to see season 2! Its a great show and there aren’t enough really good shows around at the moment so this one deffinately needs to carry on! How hard can it be to find a writer for the second series? surely finding a writer for such an ace show is easy enough or ou could just leave it to the public to breeze ideas for the second series. stephanie runs into the future to help the goverment bring down some bad ass supers!
now joshua and katies baby is born, katie no longer has powers and niether does josh.
Stephanie becomes the boss of globel tech and jayjay gets a job doing research for globaltec.
See not hard to think of a storyline so there is no need to cancel this show what so ever!
I was a bit wary of watching this show at first but WOW! It got me HOOKED like everyone here just after a few minutes of the show.

Seriously, I am stunned at how recently it seems the better a show is, the less likely it is to be invested in. There are so many series that appear to treat auduiences like idiots, with cardboard characters, kindergarden scripts and awful special effects. NOF was not one of them. It may not have broken new ground but i thoroughly enjoyed it and didn’t feel like i was being spoon fed a series by numbers written by cynical payroll creatives with no intelligent interest in the genre . It didn’t make me hate anyone and they so often do. I was preparing to settle in for a long term relationship and now all my hopes have been dashed. BRING BACK NOF! Or I will hunt you down and make you watch a marathon of sanctuary. Just kidding. I’m not that twisted.

Let me just say this, I don’t believe that this show is dead and if anything, I believe that the producers will be re-tooling this show as we speak. The way it ended just opened up a lot of other doors on how this show can progress, and perhaps to the extreme of making it into a feature. I look at it like this, sex and the city has gone into feature development, and so had the Simpsons and I wouldn’t be surprised if the Sopranos follow that trend based on their ending which was a similar circumstance to that of No ordinary Family, so all I can say is watch their space and be patient because I don’t believe that it’s over. Have faith!!!!!!!
Words cannot describe the disappointment I felt when I discovered that NOF had been cancelled. I had never been so enthralled with a tv series before. They really did it no justice; it’s so clear that it was supposed to be continued, yet was cut short. They didn’t even bring closure to the story line! Really upset, ABC. BRING IT BACK!!!

I can’t believe ABC is canceling this show! it’s such an awesome show! it just needs to have a new name, the name it a bit “stupid” from what i’ve heard (maybe why it hasn’t gotten may views) but i’ve watched this show from day one and it’s soo sad that it won’t be coming back season 2.
they really need to bring back this show for season 2 and more. it has an excellent edge of your seat plot, great character growth, and fun action scenes. i want all their powers. and now with the 80 new supers. this is too big of a cliff hanger. brilliant show! bring it back!

My family really enjoyed this show, really clean, we looked forward each week to watching the show we were on the edge of our seats, this can’t be true, please someone get them to put it back on please.
My family and I really enjoyed watching No Ordinary Family. In a time when television is oversaturated with hospital and cop drama’s, I felt this show was perfect. I remember watching the very first episode with my uncle; I told him I wasn’t going to like it. To give you a little history about me, I don’t really like X-Men, Iron-Man, pretty much anything dealing with super powers. I watched the pilot episode and was hooked. It has been a long time since I’ve had a show that made me run home on Tuesday’s by 7 p.m. to ensure I wouldn’t miss it. As a child, I would run in the house and watch my favorite show, but as an adult, with errands and other things to do, I would make sure it was scheduled around No Ordinary Family. The actors were so authentic in playing their characters, which can tend to be overdone in the “super power” world. Each character had a real human flaw and something I could identify with. It was appropriate for all ages. I didn’t have to cover my niece, who is twelve, eyes once. It’s truly a beautiful show. Please bring it back. People tend to navigate to what they know. I am tired of hospital and crime shows. Please give this show a chance.

I hope that they bring back No Ordinary Family. Not only did it have a great story line, but it was something that our whole family could watch together. And with the way most TV is these days that is far and few to find – especially to find something that everyone likes. It wasn’t too young for the older ones and it wasn’t lame, and it wasn’t too old for the kids. We looked forward to that family time every week, but now the Tuesday quality TV went down the drain!

My girlfriend and I have been in the routine of going to bed and watching No Ordinary family and its become our evening ritual! however season 1 has finished and we are desperate to see season 2! Its a great show and there aren’t enough really good shows around at the moment so this one deffinately needs to carry on! How hard can it be to find a writer for the second series? surely finding a writer for such an ace show is easy enough or ou could just leave it to the public to breeze ideas for the second series. I DON’T CARE WHAT YOU DO JUST DON’T CANCEL IT!! PLEEEEEEASE!!!!!!!!!!!

George gets invisibility and becomes jims out of the layer sidekick.
joshua and katies baby has green lantern/cyclops(x men) powers.
stephanie runs into the future to help the goverment bring down some bad ass supers!
now joshua and katies baby is born, katie no longer has powers and niether does josh.
Stephanie becomes the boss of globel tech and jayjay gets a job doing research for globaltec.
See not hard to think of a storyline so there is no need to cancel this show what so ever!
I was a bit wary of watching this show at first but WOW! It got me HOOKED like everyone here just after a few minutes of the show.
Damn it! BRING THIS SHOW BACK TO LIFE!! There’s just NO damn point running one season and leaving the rest of the us here hanging by a thread! To the people who cancelled this show, you’re stupid and you don’t know how much potential this show has!!! This show is DIFFERENT, that’s why it’s a “No Ordinary Show”.

Seriously, I am stunned at how recently it seems the better a show is, the less likely it is to be invested in. There are so many series that appear to treat auduiences like idiots, with cardboard characters, kindergarden scripts and awful special effects. NOF was not one of them. It may not have broken new ground but i thoroughly enjoyed it and didn’t feel like i was being spoon fed a series by numbers written by cynical payroll creatives with no intelligent interest in the genre . It didn’t make me hate anyone and they so often do. I was preparing to settle in for a long term relationship and now all my hopes have been dashed. BRING BACK NOF! Or I will hunt you down and make you watch a marathon of sanctuary. Just kidding. I’m not that twisted.

no ordinary family is such a great show. i watched every episode ever aired of it and absolutely loved it! i have never watched and loved a show like no ordinary family before. please don’t cancel it!
Let me just say this, I don’t believe that this show is dead and if anything, I believe that the producers will be re-tooling this show as we speak. The way it ended just opened up a lot of other doors on how this show can progress, and perhaps to the extreme of making it into a feature. I look at it like this, sex and the city has gone into feature development, and so had the Simpsons and I wouldn’t be surprised if the Sopranos follow that trend based on their ending which was a similar circumstance to that of No ordinary Family, so all I can say is watch their space and be patient because I don’t believe that it’s over. Have faith!!!!!!!
Words cannot describe the disappointment I felt when I discovered that NOF had been cancelled. I had never been so enthralled with a tv series before. They really did it no justice; it’s so clear that it was supposed to be continued, yet was cut short. They didn’t even bring closure to the story line! Really upset, ABC. BRING IT BACK!!!
