Unique is right! Alien sleeper cells hidden in high offices around the world, plotting the destruction of humans in order to save their own race from certain destruction. This show is the coolest thing since Battlestar Galactica and deserves a serious multiple-season run! What can we do to save it?
It is very hard to fathom, this is a great show and I hope some other network will pick it up if NBC doesn’t reconsider the decision to cancel. I want to know what happens next!!!
SAVE THE EVENT!!!! The Event is BY FAR one of the BEST shows on TV. Excellent writing, concept, portrayal of realistic corruption, shocking moments, cast/acting, cinematography, building of suspense, intrigue, EVERYTHING!!!

The Event was such an amazing TV Show, it has an amazing plot and suspense!. I want it back. I can’t beleive how dumb NBC is. Why do they need to cancell it?!?!?
The Event was a well written syfy show that had a great deal of suspense and should be given a second chance by NBC or another network that will stay the course with the show. I ask that some network if not NBC will see the real significance of the show and give it a home.

I am so amazed that they cancelled this show. what idiots.. great show… i said it before, one scifi fan is worth ten from other types of shows. they are loyal to a fault and buy products… advertisers love scifi fans.

What are they thinking, one great show after another gets cancelled, are all the network people thick?
The event is a great show and needs to be on for at least a second season.
Abc did the same to flashforward last year, great shows that only get a one season run, short sightedness if you ask me.
“The Event” has it assets and liabilities – interesting premise, but mediocre execution with too many threads and subplots. The show also intrinsically suffers from the disease from which most serial shows suffer. The purpose of the show is to get us to watch the commercials, not really to tell a story. As such the exposition is drawn out with no real pacing or intention to end it; thus, the plot wanders around with too many turns and about faces, or else the clues are fed to us piecemeal and very slowly, just to keep us around. (Aside: for this reason I was amazed and applaud the fact that Red John was killed off in the season finale of “The Mentalist”. Where they go next season could be interesting since the premise of the show is now literally dead. These writers/runners had guts.)
Oh well, all said I like the show maybe we can get SyFy to pick up “The Event”, although I’m not sure they would know what to do with it since it doesn’t have ghosts or wrestlers in it.
I disagree, Rick. Part of what made the show so intersting and a ‘must watch’ every week was the varied situations evolving, the different characters following their ‘destinies’ as it were. Simple can be entertaining, but a more sophisticated and intriguing program will contain more story arcs and more points of view of the main premise. Loved it, sorry it has been canceled (for the time being). Just MHO.

The event was a REALLY good show. It was prolly the only thing me and my brother both liked doing. So not only was it entertaining it was fun! And its the only show I follow! NOT fair.

Bring the show back. It was getting better and better each week. I love this show. This was the only show that i looked forward to watch each week. Mondays was my night. The Event need to have a proper ending in the future NOT now. Bring it back NBC.
I just saw The Event. Sophia just brought her ENTIRE PLANET to Earth. I am NOT going to watch any more tv except the news. Ive had it. They start something good and then stop it without conclusion. THATS CRAP> They want to throw this mindless reality CRAP everywhere. Maybe another affiliate will pick it up and continue it. Just CRAP> There are so few shows anymore that just entertain, that arent fixed or show just how disfunctional and ridiculous some people are. CRAP.
This show was really good, and there is so much more that they can do with it, it is really a shame that they are getting ride of it, I hope that enough of us feel the same way and they will re-consider. There is so much more that can be done with this series. From what I have heard, there is only a possible 5 seasons of this. I think that they should just go ahead with it, and make money off of the DVD’s and the other things that they can sell relating to the series. I am really interested in seeing where they will go with this evolutionary change that Simon was talking about. But once again, they need to continue the show. Hopefully they will.

We have to get this show back. It was an extremely well written, acted and filmed show. Every episode reminded me of how I felt watching LOST that it ended too early and I had more questions than answers. Please NBC bring the show back or at least let another channel pick up the series. I promise to buy whatever products you advertise.

I can’t believe NBC cancelled The Event. It was one of the few interesting shows I watched faithfully every week and I’m deeply disappointed that yet again, a show isn’t given time to develop it’s characters and plot line. Makes me want to boycott NBC altogether! Please bring back

i still cant wrap my head around that the show is gone. i hate when i good show like this gets this far in the story we get the build up and then nothing i hope they change there minds and pick it back up or maybe syfy will pick it up im gonna go crazy not havin this to watch
This past year, The Event was the only show I have really looked forward to seeing. What a bad time to cancel it, just when the fans are thoroughly interested in all of the characters and the mysteries that have been alluded to. We want to find out what happens.
I really hope they bring back The Event. It is an amazing show with a great story. I’m really kinda tired of reality tv taking over everything its ridiculous.
This is the best show I have seen in a long time. I don’t get to watch much TV but I can’t wait for Monday nights!!! I have seen shows comw and go I have never looked for a way to save it!!!! NBC really caught my attention on this one. I rarely even watch NBC shows mostly ABC. But by far this is the best on air. Not confusing keeps you up to date on what’s going but still leaves you in suspense after ever show. The writers have really done it. This is so original and not too unrealistic. !!!! I can go on and on but PLEASE PLEASE let’s do what we can to get this show back!!!!

This is one of the best new shows to come out this past season. I can’t believe that NBC would cancel a show before they’ve even aired all of the episodes. Something really interesting happened in almost every episode of “The Event”, (unlike “Lost”, where they only hinted at something that might [or might not] happen.) Even with a storyline, that I felt, was more convoluted than any program on television, “Lost” lasted for five or six seasons. Please bring “The Event” back, if only long enough to finish telling the story. Maybe with a little more time people will realize that it’s a supurb series and it’ll have enough viewers to keep it going. I too would like to have a few more choices in network programming.
I first began watching the show becuase there was nothing else on at the time but after only a few episodes I got hooked. This has become one of my favorites shows, along with Sanctuary, Eureka, and other Syfy shows, and I hope it doesn’t get cancelled like Stargate Universe was. Why doesn’t Syfy pick this show up since it has SO much open space in most of its schedule.
I think that The Event is definitely worth another season. I found it much more interesting, and better acted and scripted than ‘V’. Although it would be popular with the Syfy crowd, it is primarily a drama. And everything else on that channel sucks!
This really sucks. I mean why would NBC cancel such awesome shows that get better episode by episode? It’s ridiculous that they have to get rid of shows like this right after such an overwhelming season finale which makes me want to watch it even more! I think it’s just so stupid when we have to get rid of amazing shows such as The Event and V ( shows that actually have meanings and plots to them ) while there are so many dumb pointless shows that actually still air! I am really hoping that NBC does not cancel any of my 2 favorite t.v shows, otherwise if they do, F*** them for ruining my television life.
The event is just like “24″. Each episode leaves you in suspense. Great writing,Great plot, Great acting.So tired of the lame brained idiots who remove outstanding shows such as this one and replace with the MINDLESS reality shows. I am not interested in peoples personal problems. I have enough in my life. I want to excape into fantasy. Star Trek was cancled and the public protesed. Look where it went. This will happen to the Event.

I Can’t stand NBC and ABC Anymore. Everytime I get obssessed with a show, they cancel it. Examples: The Event, No Ordinary Family, V, and The Cape. I can’t stand the greedy and ANNOYING jerkfaces who run these networks. Just because a show isn’t insanely popular like a lost, can’t you just live with the fact that it’s very entertaining. Interestingly, read on another site The Event’s return in March was heavily advertised on NBC. Problem is, I only watched NBC for The Event in the fall … for the series’ launch in the fall, NBC must have advertised on other networks — the marketing execs must be aware The Event drew viewers to their network — oddly, they didn’t use the same strategy in the spring return of the series. I happened to see the show was back in a random search online. If NBC doesn’t realize its mistake, I’ll definitely follow it to a cable channel. Thus, no reason to turn to NBC for anything …
This just shows why I cant stand the “big” networks. You get going on an AMAZING show and they cancel it. NBC needs to wake up and listen to the people watching their network paying their bills. I will not be watching NBC at all in the future if it is not back. it may sound ridiculous, but I don’t feel I need NBC. They need me!
The Event is a great show. Every week, my wife and daughter would look forward to the next episode. It was a time I always looked forward to spending with my family. I hope it comes back. We are all so sad that it was cancelled by NBC. When I told my wife and daughter the news it was being cancelled, they thought I was joking. I really do hope this website helps in bringing The Event back next season and for more seasons beyond that!
Sucks it’s been canceled because the last four or five episodes have been great. The end cliffhanger is awesome and would love to know what happens next with the aliens coming to earth. Very unfortunate that it’s been canceled, and hope it returns. Give it 12 more episodes NBC, or somekind of trial run! Just let people know they have to watch it on the station or hulu or nbc’s website or on demand so that you can cout how many viewers watch it, instead of watching it illegally or months later on the dvr.

How can a network simply pull a show off without offering their loyal viewers some sort of closure? The Event has one of the most intriguing story-lines out of any series. Both me and my girlfriend have been glued to every episode. I think the audience measurement systems is flawed, what about the online viewers (hulu, sidereel, itunes, etc.), what about us international viewers? All the way from South Africa, I can’t wait to see how the story unfolds, I really hope the show is picked up again!

In this time where we make 10 sequels off of 1 successful idea, model current TV episodes off of a real world news story, remake every movie that was made before, twice and sell sex or plain immoral issues. The Event, is an edge of the seat thrill ride which causes you to think twice. This show and it’s writers provided a venue for out of the box thinking! Please reconsider bring this show back next season. It is worth all of our efforts to see great programming continue…
How are you going to leave us with a planet next door like that? We need to findout what happens next to this country and the world. It was an incredible ending with the planet showing up. What is the Event? The question is still out there. What happens to the Vice President is he tried for treason? I have the entire season on my DVR, now what. Bring it back, that is leaving us hanging is wrong. People are getting sick of the reality crap and next something great and you have it. It keeps me on the edge of my seat to see what going to happen next week and now this. BRING IT BACK!
I am with everyone else–bring back the show. I have never felt so strongly about a show being cancelled–this is the first time for me to take the time to fight back to keep a show–and I am 60 years old. Does that tell you how much I enjoyed the series? Take off one of those awful reality shows and put this in it’s place–you have plenty of those to chose from.
I am done with NBC, this is the fourth show they have cancelled without regard for the viewer. I feel like we are at the mercy of this network. What gives them right to get you all involved (as I was with the Event) in a show and then just dismiss it, as if your involvement means nothing. Are we the viewers that irrelevant. IT IS TRULY UNFAIR. Really, who wants to watch anything new, knowing that it will most likely be cancelled. From now on I am sticking with the cable channels, they seem to have a little more respect for their audience.

I Am from Brazil, coming here still feeling deep HOPE that somehow our united presence here shall make the difference , and bring “THE EVENT ” Series , back to all of us. This is, without absolutely any question, one of the BEST SCIENCE FICTION TV shows that has ever produced.
The story is so well chosen and capable to capture our mind and feelings, that , as I said, there has to be a way to have it back!!! I can only foreseen that!!
Amazing show, awesome story telling and a very compelling idea! What else does a show need? It kind of started slow but performed way past expectation and just needs some word of mouth to gain viewers for the second season!!!! Bring it up, SyFy, if NBC is too scared to create the next “Lost”!!!!

If my computer had the ability to, I would even write the phrase “The Event” with its backwards E, the way it should be and I find so cool.
Also, at the risk of embarrassing myself, I would find myself on the edge of my bed screaming at my TV on EVERY episode. AND, when I found out it had been cancelled, I almost cried; I will admit that.
We get enough of reality in everyday life, we don’t need to watch it on TV! This series CANNOT die. As far as I’m concerned, The Event isn’t over until WE say so!

Its a shame that so many questions about the EVEVT are not answered. Who made the scroll? How did they know about the future EVENT? How did they know about the future worrior (Ritter) who could save the day? Whats going to happen to the EARTH people when the event occures? Why did the aliens leave Earth in the first place? There is so much unanswered and NBC totally abandones its viebers,not caring about them at alol.I*’am 67 years old and this is the best si-fy program ever. My wife cant stanf si-fy,but this program she loved. I dont know where you get your polling results,but I have never been polled in my life. Your pole seemes bogus to me. Bring back the EVEVT
If the show can’t be brought back for another whole season, how about a mini-series of 4-6 episodes to bring it to a better conclusion? Leaving us with such a major cliff-hanger, then canceling – we gotta know at least how the writers intended the show to conclude – at least enough so that we know what THE EVENT, the name of the series, is!
It’s a shame that NBC is cancelling The Event. Apparently, when they looked at the Nielsen ratings, many loyal, devout viewers were not counted–Nielsen is not a reliable method!! They can’t cancel one of the FEW thought-provoking shows on TV!

And it’s not just in the US this will be missed. I’ve been watching on Channel 4 in the UK and have seen every episode. I’d watch another series, happily. There’s so much rubbish on TV these days that it’s frustrating when one of the few genuinely entertaining dramas gets axed. 24, ER, gone – I don’t really miss Lost – but this could have taken their place. IDIOTS. You don’t deserve a TV station.
I still cant believe they canceled such a fantastic show. How do networks leave crap on like The Kardashians and Jersey Shore and axe The Event. The acting was superb and each episode kept me on the edge of my seat. The series was unique and full of imagination. I don’t know about others but I’m sick of shows about LAWYERS, POLICE and CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION. I NEED something different and fresh and The Event really hit the spot. BRING IT BACK….. I’m from the UK and as always, we get the shows you guys see a good few months later. However, I have a cousin who lives in NY and he tells me all about the great shows before it hits the UK TV. It is a shame that these guys make shows spending so much money and building up veiwer expectaion, all to stick 2 fingers at us just when we are getting in to the program! I find that disgusting! In the UK, there was a show called Survivors which was a remake of a tv series aired in the 70′s. They aired season 2 and just killed the show with out any ending! Whats that all about? If you’re going to air something and cancel at least give it a finishing. There were a good few scifi series’ like Odyssey 5, Jake 2.0, The Pretender, John Doe, The Invisible Man, to name a few and recently we have The Event, Flash Forward, No Ordinary Family, Heroes, My Own Worst Enemy, I can go on & on. All I ask is who do you ask to find out if the show is good? What about the few of us that actually look forward to coming home after a long day at work to unwind with a great show to watch? they cancelled it right at the wrong time. they only need like one or two more episodes to end season 1. They should have waited til they “arrived”. I was pissed when it wasnt on last monday. i was like WTF?!?! I really really hope syfy picks it up. or even TNT would be good. i dont care, just bring it back!!!!
NBC is a terrible network to begin with anyway. The Event was the only good show on their network. I personally would like to see them on TNT or USA, or maybe SyFy. It averaged over 6 million veiwers the entire season. Yes, the ratings fluctuated during the season, but NBC marketed the show horribly wrong. Any of these 3 networks would work perfectly for the show. I hope Stark will talk to the latter of the two(TNT or USA).
I have had five series I had started watching cancelled with cliff-hangers in the last 3 years:

4. flash forward
5. Jericho
I have come to the conclusion that I need to wait a few years to see if new series survive before I commit and watch them on Netflx rather than network television, rather than being left in the lurch again.

You Are Kidding Me!! This is the network that “cut” ‘Under God’ for the Pledge, they have not a clue what people want. I often have to watch the show on-line do to other commitments – but I watch it religiously. Have been looking for it – now know what happened. Someone pick this up – PLEASE!!!!!

This is the first series I watched in awhile & it gets cancelled! Another great show gone! I guess series are now prey to the reality shows. I guess people preferred to watch D list celebrities on Dancin With The Stars over this wonderful show! This was so exciting & I can’t believe we will never know what The Event actually was! Wonder if SyFy would pick it up? We can hope!

Unique is right! Alien sleeper cells hidden in high offices around the world, plotting the destruction of humans in order to save their own race from certain destruction. This show is the coolest thing since Battlestar Galactica and deserves a serious multiple-season run! What can we do to save it?

The Event was a well written syfy show that had a great deal of suspense and should be given a second chance by NBC or another network that will stay the course with the show. I ask that some network if not NBC will see the real significance of the show and give it a home.

Abc did the same to flashforward last year, great shows that only get a one season run, short sightedness if you ask me.

“The Event” has it assets and liabilities – interesting premise, but mediocre execution with too many threads and subplots. The show also intrinsically suffers from the disease from which most serial shows suffer. The purpose of the show is to get us to watch the commercials, not really to tell a story. As such the exposition is drawn out with no real pacing or intention to end it; thus, the plot wanders around with too many turns and about faces, or else the clues are fed to us piecemeal and very slowly, just to keep us around. (Aside: for this reason I was amazed and applaud the fact that Red John was killed off in the season finale of “The Mentalist”. Where they go next season could be interesting since the premise of the show is now literally dead. These writers/runners had guts.)
Oh well, all said I like the show maybe we can get SyFy to pick up “The Event”, although I’m not sure they would know what to do with it since it doesn’t have ghosts or wrestlers in it.
I disagree, Rick. Part of what made the show so intersting and a ‘must watch’ every week was the varied situations evolving, the different characters following their ‘destinies’ as it were. Simple can be entertaining, but a more sophisticated and intriguing program will contain more story arcs and more points of view of the main premise. Loved it, sorry it has been canceled (for the time being). Just MHO.

I just saw The Event. Sophia just brought her ENTIRE PLANET to Earth. I am NOT going to watch any more tv except the news. Ive had it. They start something good and then stop it without conclusion. THATS CRAP> They want to throw this mindless reality CRAP everywhere. Maybe another affiliate will pick it up and continue it. This show was really good, and there is so much more that they can do with it, it is really a shame that they are getting ride of it, I hope that enough of us feel the same way and they will re-consider. There is so much more that can be done with this series. From what I have heard, there is only a possible 5 seasons of this. I think that they should just go ahead with it, and make money off of the DVD’s and the other things that they can sell relating to the series. I am really interested in seeing where they will go with this evolutionary change that Simon was talking about. But once again, they need to continue the show. Hopefully they will.

This past year, The Event was the only show I have really looked forward to seeing. What a bad time to cancel it, just when the fans are thoroughly interested in all of the characters and the mysteries that have been alluded to. We want to find out what happens.
I really hope they bring back The Event. It is an amazing show with a great story. I’m really kinda tired of reality tv taking over everything its ridiculous.

This is the best show I have seen in a long time. I don’t get to watch much TV but I can’t wait for Monday nights!!! I have seen shows comw and go I have never looked for a way to save it!!!! NBC really caught my attention on this one. I rarely even watch NBC shows mostly ABC. But by far this is the best on air. Not confusing keeps you up to date on what’s going but still leaves you in suspense after ever show. The writers have really done it. This is so original and not too unrealistic. !!!! I can go on and on but PLEASE PLEASE let’s do what we can to get this show back!!!!

This is one of the best new shows to come out this past season. I can’t believe that NBC would cancel a show before they’ve even aired all of the episodes. Something really interesting happened in almost every episode of “The Event”, (unlike “Lost”, where they only hinted at something that might [or might not] happen.) Even with a storyline, that I felt, was more convoluted than any program on television, “Lost” lasted for five or six seasons. Please bring “The Event” back, if only long enough to finish telling the story. Maybe with a little more time people will realize that it’s a supurb series and it’ll have enough viewers to keep it going. I too would like to have a few more choices in network programming.

I first began watching the show becuase there was nothing else on at the time but after only a few episodes I got hooked. This has become one of my favorites shows, along with Sanctuary, Eureka, and other Syfy shows, and I hope it doesn’t get cancelled like Stargate Universe was. Why doesn’t Syfy pick this show up since it has SO much open space in most of its schedule.
I think that The Event is definitely worth another season. I found it much more interesting, and better acted and scripted than ‘V’. Although it would be popular with the Syfy crowd, it is primarily a drama. And everything else on that channel sucks!

This really sucks. I mean why would NBC cancel such awesome shows that get better episode by episode? It’s ridiculous that they have to get rid of shows like this right after such an overwhelming season finale which makes me want to watch it even more! The event is just like “24″. Each episode leaves you in suspense. Great writing,Great plot, Great acting.So tired of the lame brained idiots who remove outstanding shows such as this one and replace with the MINDLESS reality shows. I Can’t stand NBC and ABC Anymore. Everytime I get obssessed with a show, they cancel it. Examples: The Event, No Ordinary Family, V, and The Cape. Interestingly, read on another site The Event’s return in March was heavily advertised on NBC. Problem is, I only watched NBC for The Event in the fall … for the series’ launch in the fall, NBC must have advertised on other networks — the marketing execs must be aware The Event drew viewers to their network — oddly, they didn’t use the same strategy in the spring return of the series. I happened to see the show was back in a random search online. If NBC doesn’t realize its mistake, I’ll definitely follow it to a cable channel. Thus, no reason to turn to NBC for anything …
This just shows why I cant stand the “big” networks. You get going on an AMAZING show and they cancel it. NBC needs to wake up and listen to the people watching their network paying their bills. I will not be watching NBC at all in the future if it is not back. it may sound ridiculous, but I don’t feel I need NBC. They need me!
The Event is a great show. Every week, my wife and daughter would look forward to the next episode. It was a time I always looked forward to spending with my family. I hope it comes back. We are all so sad that it was cancelled by NBC. When I told my wife and daughter the news it was being cancelled, they thought I was joking. I really do hope this website helps in bringing The Event back next season and for more seasons beyond that!
Sucks it’s been canceled because the last four or five episodes have been great. The end cliffhanger is awesome and would love to know what happens next with the aliens coming to earth. Very unfortunate that it’s been canceled, and hope it returns. Give it 12 more episodes NBC, or somekind of trial run! Just let people know they have to watch it on the station or hulu or nbc’s website or on demand so that you can cout how many viewers watch it, instead of watching it illegally or months later on the dvr.

How can a network simply pull a show off without offering their loyal viewers some sort of closure? The Event has one of the most intriguing story-lines out of any series. Both me and my girlfriend have been glued to every episode. I think the audience measurement systems is flawed, what about the online viewers (hulu, sidereel, itunes, etc.), what about us international viewers? All the way from South Africa, I can’t wait to see how the story unfolds, I really hope the show is picked up again!

In this time where we make 10 sequels off of 1 successful idea, model current TV episodes off of a real world news story, remake every movie that was made before, twice and sell sex or plain immoral issues. How are you going to leave us with a planet next door like that? We need to findout what happens next to this country and the world. It was an incredible ending with the planet showing up. What is the Event? The question is still out there. What happens to the Vice President is he tried for treason? I have the entire season on my DVR, now what. Bring it back, that is leaving us hanging is wrong. People are getting sick of the reality crap and next something great and you have it. I am with everyone else–bring back the show. I have never felt so strongly about a show being cancelled–this is the first time for me to take the time to fight back to keep a show–and I am 60 years old. Does that tell you how much I enjoyed the series? Take off one of those awful reality shows and put this in it’s place–you have plenty of those to chose from.
I am done with NBC, this is the fourth show they have cancelled without regard for the viewer. I feel like we are at the mercy of this network. What gives them right to get you all involved (as I was with the Event) in a show and then just dismiss it, as if your involvement means nothing. Are we the viewers that irrelevant. IT IS TRULY UNFAIR. Really, who wants to watch anything new, knowing that it will most likely be cancelled. From now on I am sticking with the cable channels, they seem to have a little more respect for their audience.

I guess I’m not the typical American viewer. I loved the Event as well as Lie to Me, Jouneyman, Firefly, V, etc. Guess most folks are looking forward to another spin-off like CSI: Mayberry or Dancing with the Biggest Loser. Nothing wrong with those shows, but really, how many do we need?
I also have to add that I work with a diverse group of people. This is the one show that we all watch. It’s been great for team building.
I Am from Brazil, coming here still feeling deep HOPE that somehow our united presence here shall make the difference , and bring “THE EVENT ” Series , back to all of us. This is, without absolutely any question, one of the BEST SCIENCE FICTION TV shows that has ever produced.
The story is so well chosen and capable to capture our mind and feelings, that , as I said, there has to be a way to have it back!!! I can only foreseen that!!

Its a shame that so many questions about the EVEVT are not answered. Who made the scroll? How did they know about the future EVENT? How did they know about the future worrior (Ritter) who could save the day? Whats going to happen to the EARTH people when the event occures? Why did the aliens leave Earth in the first place? There is so much unanswered and NBC totally abandones its viebers,not caring about them at alol.I*’am 67 years old and this is the best si-fy program ever. My wife cant stanf si-fy,but this program she loved. I dont know where you get your polling results,but I have never been polled in my life. Your pole seemes bogus to me. Bring back the EVEVT
If the show can’t be brought back for another whole season, how about a mini-series of 4-6 episodes to bring it to a better conclusion? Leaving us with such a major cliff-hanger, then canceling – we gotta know at least how the writers intended the show to conclude – at least enough so that we know what THE EVENT, the name of the series, is!
It’s a shame that NBC is cancelling The Event. Apparently, when they looked at the Nielsen ratings, many loyal, devout viewers were not counted–Nielsen is not a reliable method!! They can’t cancel one of the FEW thought-provoking shows on TV!

And it’s not just in the US this will be missed. I’ve been watching on Channel 4 in the UK and have seen every episode. I’d watch another series, happily. There’s so much rubbish on TV these days that it’s frustrating when one of the few genuinely entertaining dramas gets axed. 24, ER, gone – I don’t really miss Lost – but this could have taken their place. IDIOTS. You don’t deserve a TV station.
If there is ANY show that should be saved, it HAS to be THE EVENT!!!

I still cant believe they canceled such a fantastic show. How do networks leave crap on like The Kardashians and Jersey Shore and axe The Event. The acting was superb and each episode kept me on the edge of my seat. The series was unique and full of imagination. I don’t know about others but I’m sick of shows about LAWYERS, POLICE and CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION. I NEED something different and fresh and The Event really hit the spot. BRING IT BACK….. PLEASE!!!!!!!!!
There are always a lot of cancellations at this time of the year but this year they choae all the best shows to take off. The Event is one of the best series ever. Please all Event fans, MAKE ONE ORGANIZATION AND EVERYONE JOIN SO WE WILL LOOK THAT MUCH STRONGER TO THE POWERS THAT BE.

I’m from the UK and as always, we get the shows you guys see a good few months later. However, I have a cousin who lives in NY and he tells me all about the great shows before it hits the UK TV. It is a shame that these guys make shows spending so much money and building up veiwer expectaion, all to stick 2 fingers at us just when we are getting in to the program! I find that disgusting! In the UK, there was a show called Survivors which was a remake of a tv series aired in the 70′s. They aired season 2 and just killed the show with out any ending! Whats that all about? If you’re going to air something and cancel at least give it a finishing. There were a good few scifi series’ like Odyssey 5, Jake 2.0, The Pretender, John Doe, The Invisible Man, to name a few and recently we have The Event, Flash Forward, No Ordinary Family, Heroes, My Own Worst Enemy, I can go on & on. All I ask is who do you ask to find out if the show is good? What about the few of us that actually look forward to coming home after a long day at work to unwind with a great show to watch? A message to the fat cats if they ever read these forums, “STOP PUTTING CRAP ON TV, IF YOU PUT SOMETHING ON, PUT AN END TO IT SO THAT PEOPLE LIKE ME CAN STOP WORRYING ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED AND WASTING OUR TIME WHEN WE COULD HAVE BEEN PROPPER CRAPPY TV LIKE JERRY SPRINGER!”
they cancelled it right at the wrong time. they only need like one or two more episodes to end season 1. They should have waited til they “arrived”. I was pissed when it wasnt on last monday. i was like WTF?!?! I really really hope syfy picks it up. or even TNT would be good. i dont care, just bring it back!!!!
NBC is a terrible network to begin with anyway. The Event was the only good show on their network. I personally would like to see them on TNT or USA, or maybe SyFy. It averaged over 6 million veiwers the entire season. Yes, the ratings fluctuated during the season, but NBC marketed the show horribly wrong. Any of these 3 networks would work perfectly for the show. I hope Stark will talk to the latter of the two(TNT or USA).
I have had five series I had started watching cancelled with cliff-hangers in the last 3 years:
1. The event
2. No ordinary family
3. V
4. flash forward
5. Jericho
I have come to the conclusion that I need to wait a few years to see if new series survive before I commit and watch them on Netflx rather than network television, rather than being left in the lurch again.
The event was a great series, and these people are total idiots for canceling it
You Are Kidding Me!! This is the network that “cut” ‘Under God’ for the Pledge, they have not a clue what people want. I often have to watch the show on-line do to other commitments – but I watch it religiously. Have been looking for it – now know what happened. Someone pick this up – PLEASE!!!!!
Bring back the EVENT!!!! How unfair to watch a series and be left hanging!!! Monday nights will never be the same, this show was something to look forward to!! So sick of reality nonsense, honestly NBC I am done with your useless network!!
Everyone wants it back. what more do you need to hear NBC. Sounds to me like there would be alot of happy viewers if this show returned.

This is the first series I watched in awhile & it gets cancelled! Another great show gone! I guess series are now prey to the reality shows. I guess people preferred to watch D list celebrities on Dancin With The Stars over this wonderful show! This was so exciting & I can’t believe we will never know what The Event actually was! Wonder if SyFy would pick it up? We can hope!
